GAWL 22nd Annual Girl Scouts Project

On June 17 and 18, 2024, the GAWL, GAWL Foundation, and the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta will be hosting its 22nd Annual Girl Scout Project at the Nathan Deal Judicial Center located at 330 Capitol Ave SE Suite L200, Atlanta, GA 30334. Rising 8th to 12th graders will participate in a two-day program that culminates in a mock trial. Participants will also engage in career exploration and networking activities with some of the best female lawyers and judges in Atlanta. 

We need 6 volunteers on both days to help with coaching the mock trial -- Monday (6/17) from noon to 2:20 p.m. and Tuesday (6/18) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Coaches may volunteer for just one day or for both. NO TRIAL EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED.  Law students make excellent coaches, as do transactional attorneys! 

We need 5 Volunteers each day for the Career Panels. Day one will feature a Career Panel of various types of lawyers. We are looking for criminal, civil, corporate, entertainment, contract lawyers who will answer questsions about their career path and day to day duties. Day two will feature a panel of legal professionals (hopefully Judges) who will speak about their particular court's jurisdiction and day to day duties. 

We also need 20 volunteers to eat lunch with a scout at the mentor lunch on Tuesday (6/18) from noon to 1 p.m. 

And for those of you who can't get enough of this event, we could use a couple of All Day Volunteers both days.
