Our October Spotlight is Megan McCulloch, a long-time GAWL member. Megan joined GAWL soon after starting at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and served as her school’s chapter president her 3L year. She joined GAWL because she wanted to be a part of a community that could help her to navigate the legal industry as a woman. Since joining GAWL, she has participated in both the former GAWLedu program and GAWL Leadership Academy, both of which she loved. She enjoys attending GAWL membership events where she can catch up with friends & colleagues.
When asked how we can support the welfare and development of women attorneys, Megan says, "I think it's important to start in law school. I know how hugely beneficial it was to me to have a sort of built in network upon graduation. I think we've also go to do more membership events throughout the year to make sure people remember who/what GAWL is."
At the beginning of this year, while working for Georgia Legal Services Program, Megan successfully argued in person before the Georgia Court of Appeals for the first time and achieved a big win for her client.
Megan currently works as a Government Affairs Associate Attorney with Washington Legal Group in Atlanta, GA. When she’s not busy working, she enjoys live music, crafting, watching movies, and being a pet parent to “two fluffs.”
