Prior to joining Krevolin & Horst, Kana served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mark H. Cohen on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, where she managed hundreds of federal civil cases.   Before her clerkship, she practiced at King & Spalding in New York, where her practice focused on complex cross-border commercial litigation before courts and arbitral tribunals.

Kareemah L. Lewis is a dedicated public servant, experienced litigator, and proud Tar Heel. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Carolina Covenant Scholar, Kareemah began her career in education equity with the Carolina College Advising Corps before entering the legal field. She has since served as a prosecutor, public defender, municipal attorney, and currently, as Senior Associate Counsel for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).

Kareemah’s involvement with GAWL began as a law student in 2011 when she served as a member of the membership committee on the GAWL Board. She thrived from the mentorship and guidance she received from other Board members, values that continue to guide her leadership. She has held multiple roles within the organization and now serves as GAWL’s 94th President, where she leads statewide initiatives focused on professional development, advocacy, and community engagement for women in law under the theme: Celebrating the Legacy of Excellence. She was honored with GAWL’s President’s Award in 2022 and named a 2023 “Attorney on the Rise” by the Daily Report.

Outside of GAWL, Kareemah volunteers with organizations such as Nicholas House, Fertile Ground, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She also mentors young women and empowers youth through speaking engagements and mock trial programs. Above all, she cherishes time with her daughter Kaelyn, who inspires her daily to lead with purpose and passion.

Tyronia (“Ty”) M. Smith, Esq., C.M. is the Chief Revenue Officer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), the world’s busiest airport.  She oversees all non-aeronautical revenue generating activities, including concessions, advertising, ground transportation, parking, and rental car operations.  ATL’s Commercial Revenue Division typically generates over $1.2 Billion in annual gross revenue.

A native of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University, where she became the first African American woman to win the Stanley Moot Court Competition.  She has extensive experience in legal and commercial matters.  After 17 years in private practice, Ty joined the City of Atlanta Department of Law where she established the Municipal Governance Team, led the Finance Practice Group, and served as senior counsel to ATL.

Ty remains active in the legal community and serves on the executive boards for the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers and the State Bar of Georgia Client Security Fund.  She is also dedicated to community service, mentors youth and young professionals, and advises local organizations.

Tammy Thomas is a Director in CBIZ’s Advisory Services Division with a focus on forensic accounting and litigation services. She has more than twenty-five years of experience, comprised of public and private practice, having spent several years in public accounting and serving in the private real estate investment industry.
Ms. Thomas has been involved in many engagements involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, accounting malpractice, franchise agreements, shareholder agreements, purchase price adjustments, fraud and intellectual property damages. She has been retained as the expert witness by plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract disputes and has testified in depositions, at trial in court, and in arbitration.
Prior to focusing her career on dispute resolution services, Ms. Thomas worked in public and corporate accounting. She was an auditor a Big Five firm where she audited public and private companies, assisted in various SEC filings, due diligence, and various other consulting projects. Ms. Thomas audited clients in the international and domestic utility industry, as well as the telecommunications, manufacturing, and service industries.
Additionally, Ms. Thomas worked with a global real estate investment firm overseeing the financial progress of specific investments for several real estate funds and performing internal reviews and audits of properties. She was also involved in due diligence for potential real estate investment opportunities by the company.

Outside of the office, Rebecca is an artist with a passion for textile art. She enjoys spending time with her children, including building play structures, gardening, and taking care of their chickens.

Nicole Katapodis is an associate at BakerHostetler. Her practice focuses on healthcare law, providing advice and guidance on regulatory compliance matters, She has advised clients on regulatory requirements for changes of ownership and has also engaged in extensive Medicare recovery audit work.

Rachel is an associate attorney at Bodker, Ramsey, Andrews, Winograd, & Wildstein, P.C. Her work focuses primarily on business litigation and employment matters. Prior to that, she worked as a law clerk in the Northern District of Georgia. Outside of the firm, Rachel has enjoyed volunteering with Atlanta Legal Aid and the ABA’s Commission on Immigration Court Observation and Awareness Project. Originally from South Florida, Rachel attended college at the University of Florida where she received a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, Rachel served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the Emory Law Journal and worked in both the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic and the Turner Environmental Law Clinic.

Latevia Priddy is originally from Paducah, KY but her upbringing took her all across the state of 
Kentucky. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky and later earned her 
Juris Doctorate from the Salmon P Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
Launching her career in Kentucky, she founded her own law firm, Priddy & Associates, PSC. 
Subsequently she formed a partnership with Wimberly & Associates, PLLC where her practice continued 
to grow. As a versatile general practitioner, she handled a diverse range of cases, including 
family, personal injury, criminal, probate, estate planning, consumer protection, EEOC, labor and 
employment, religious liberty, civil rights, landlord/tenant, for-profit and non-profit business 
formation, and consulting. In 2020, Ms. Priddy transitioned to Georgia and worked at a family law 
firm before joining the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office and ultimately transitioning to 
Quintairos, Prieto, Wood, & Boyer, P.A., where she handles general liability and insurance defense 
matters. In 2024, she began serving as Judge, Pro Tem with the Fulton County Juvenile Court.

Ms. Priddy is licensed in all Superior and State courts of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals 
and Supreme Court, in all Circuit and District courts of Kentucky, the United States District Court

Jacquelyn S. Johnson, a Chicago native, resides in Atlanta where she is Employment Counsel for North America with ResMed Corporation. Jacquelyn’s experience prior to joining ResMed, included representing the federal government in employment disputes, working for an AM 100 Firm where she represented Fortune 500 clients, and conducting 1000’s of investigations into Employment Discrimination complaints on behalf of the federal government. Jacquelyn’s commitment to fostering healthy and positive work environments for individuals in the workplace extends beyond litigating cases, advising, educating, and providing training to her clients, it also includes helping draft more inclusive language for workplace policies to ensure all employees feel welcomed and valued. Jacquelyn has a sincere passion for the law, and civil rights issues.

Jacquelyn is active in several Bar Associations. Jacquelyn previously served as the 2022-2023 Co-Chair of the Social Justice Committee for the National Bar Association-Young Lawyer Division, where the committee brought together Black leaders to discuss ways to better work together to pursue social justice and equality within communities. Nicole Shockley is a native of Riverdale, Georgia. She graduated from North Clayton High School in 2007 and went on to attend the University of Georgia where she graduated in 2011 with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, with a minor in Spanish.  Nicole received her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida in 2014.  She is a registered member of the Georgia Bar Association.

While attending the University of Georgia, Nicole actively participated in several student organizations.  She served as a member of the Arch Society and was a recruiting assistant with the Athletic Department.  Nicole was also initiated into the Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Nicole received the Governor’s Merit Scholarship and was honored for her pro bono work in the Immigrant and Human Rights clinic while attending Florida Coastal School of Law.  She served as the vice president for the Caribbean Law Students Association.

Nicole's passion for helping others is evident not only in her career choice, but also in her community involvement. Candis Jones is a seasoned attorney and deputy managing partner of the Atlanta office of Lewis Brisbois, and a member of the General Liability practice, where she specializes in defending businesses, insurance carriers, hospitals, independent medical providers, and transit authorities in complex litigation matters.

Marissa "Missy" Torgerson represents businesses and management teams in complex employment and commercial disputes, bringing a thoughtful, pragmatic approach shaped by nearly seven years of employee-side advocacy. Her background provides her with a well-rounded perspective on workplace issues, enabling her to anticipate opposing arguments and counsel clients toward practical, cost‑effective resolutions.

Missy’s practice focuses on employment and commercial litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour collective actions, restrictive covenant disputes, and construction-related conflicts. She manages litigation from start to finish, handling all phases of a case, such as pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and settlement negotiations. Dionne McGee is a lifelong daughter of DeKalb County and a seasoned attorney with
over two decades of experience in public service and the law. She currently serves as
Deputy Inspector General for the City of Atlanta, where she also serves as General
Counsel and leads the Compliance Division, investigating corruption, waste, fraud, and
abuse in city government.
Her career spans prosecution, criminal defense, and judicial service, including roles as
Senior Assistant District Attorney in DeKalb County, Deputy Chief Assistant Solicitor
leading the Special Victims Unit, and Pro Hac Judge in the Atlanta Municipal Court. She
is also the founder of McGee Law LLC, where she combined advocacy with community
engagement through her “Coffee and Conversations” series.
Beyond the courtroom, Dionne is deeply committed to civic leadership. She serves on
the DeKalb Schools Educational Foundation Board, is a past president of the DeKalb
Lawyers Association, a member of Leadership DeKalb and has held leadership roles
with both the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the Georgia
Association for Women Lawyers.
A proud graduate of Redan High School, the University of Georgia, and John Marshall
Law School, Dionne is also a 31-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She
has been married to her husband, Kevin, for 25 years, and they are the proud parents of
two daughters, Kayla and Amaya.

Lisa Ross, a retired National Labor Relations Board Administrative Law Judge, is Labor Counsel at Audacy, Inc., a legacy media company. She specializes in labor and employee relations and employment law/litigation.

Aimee Sobhani is an assistant general counsel in the Office of General Counsel for the State Bar of Georgia, As an assistant general counsel, Aimee prosecutes violations of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and specializes in appellate litigation.

Olivia Davis is an Attorney Analyst for the Office of Policy and Legislative Analysis with the Georgia Senate. She serves all 56 state senators as a policy expert encompassing education law (K-12 and higher education), family law, and child welfare. She is a 2025 graduate of Emory University School of Law, where she received her JD and a concentration in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution while also serving as President of the Student Bar Association during her final year. Olivia was an involved member of the Emory Law Moot Court Society and served as Director of Alumni Relations, which required her to recruit, train, and oversee judges for the 2024 Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition held at Emory Law. Previously, she graduated summa cum laude from The University of Alabama with degrees including Honors College completion, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Liberal Arts.

Dedicated to service, Olivia completed over 120 pro bono hours during her time in law school. She was the 2025 recipient of the Mark and Rebekah Wasserman Public Service Award, an award granted annually to the third-year law student at Emory Law who exemplifies the greatest commitment to public interest law. She completed a public interest experiential learning program each semester and summer of law school, working alongside organizations such as Mosaic Georgia, Barton Child Law and Policy Center, Fulton County Juvenile Court, and Southern Center for Human Rights. In her spare time, she now volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Boys & Girls Club while also actively seeking out and completing various pro bono legal opportunities. In addition to serving on the GAWL Board, Olivia also serves on the State Bar of Georgia Committee on Professionalism.

Liz Hendrix focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation matters. Before joining the firm, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Michael L. Brown of the Northern District of Georgia, assisting with criminal and civil trials. 

Additionally, Liz has experience as a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals in the Eleventh Circuit, working with the Special Appellate Matters Unit and Motions Unit, and preparing extensive memoranda and opinions on a variety of cases. She also served as a temporary law clerk to the Hon. Jill A. Pryor during her time at the Staff Attorney’s Office.

Liz earned her J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law. During law school, she served as the communications director of the Emory International Law Review. She received a B.A., summa cum laude, in political science with a minor in sociology from the University of Central Florida.

Alexandra M. Zimmer is an associate attorney at Berman Fink Van Horn P.C. Her practice focuses on business litigation, trade secrets and non-competes, and real estate litigation. She is a 2025 graduate of Emory University School of Law, where she received her J.D. with honors and a concentration in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. She was an involved member of the Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal, serving as an Executive Managing Editor, and she held various leadership positions on the Executive Board of the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program, including serving as the Executive Director in her final year. As an associate attorney, Alexandra continues to explore academic and pro bono opportunities in addition to her practice.

Balean S. Reid received her Bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in Political Science with a concentration in Pre-Law and a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University. She earned her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2021, where she was named to the Dean’s List and served as President of the Legal Association for Women Students. During law school, she was actively involved in the Family Law Society and the Black Law Students Association and honed her advocacy skills through participation in the Moot Court Society.

While in law school, Balean externed with Atlanta Legal Aid, where she advocated on behalf of survivors of domestic violence seeking Temporary Protective Orders. Since graduating, she has focused her legal practice exclusively on domestic relations, handling matters including divorce, child custody, legitimation, modifications, and prenuptial agreements. Balean is particularly passionate about supporting victims of domestic violence and continues to volunteer with both Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) and Atlanta Legal Aid. In recognition of her dedication, she was named AVLF’s 2024 Family Law Program Volunteer of the Year.

Balean has been selected as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star in the area of family law for 2024.

In addition to her legal practice, Balean is deeply engaged in the legal community. She currently serves as the Chair of the Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and Vice President of Special Events for the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL). She is also an active member of the Cobb County Bar Association. Balean is a member of the faculty for Emory University School of Law’s Kessler-Eidson Trial Techniques Program, where she has taught in the summers of 2024 and 2025.

Originally from Waterbury Connecticut, Balean now resides in DeKalb County. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, peer mentoring, and spending time with friends and family.

The GAWL Foundation, established in 2003 by the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, is the philanthropic arm of GAWL. Its mission is to empower women lawyers in Georgia to give back to their communities through service and charitable giving. Together, GAWL and the GAWL Foundation work hand-in-hand to support, uplift, and inspire women in the legal profession while creating meaningful impact beyond the courtroom.

Gulliana brings a deep commitment to service and over two decades of legal experience to this important role. As Managing Partner at Fry | Goehring, she uses her legal knowledge and passion to advocate for injured clients. Originally from Peru, Gulliana began her legal education there before relocating to Atlanta in 2002. She holds a B.A. in International Economics from Georgia State University (cum laude) and earned her J.D. from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (cum laude), graduating 4th in her class.

An award-winning professional and active community leader, Gulliana volunteers with numerous nonprofits, fosters dogs through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue (where she also sits on the advisory board), and holds board positions in the Georgia Hispanic Bar Association, the Latin American Chamber of Commerce, and Latinas Rise.

Gulliana’s leadership, vision, and service-driven mindset make her the perfect leader to carry the GAWL Foundation’s mission forward. 

Marriah Paige focuses her practice primarily on wrongful death, personal injury, premises liability, and medical malpractice matters.

Prior to joining WWHGD, Marriah prosecuted and defended Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, property management companies, health care providers, municipalities, and individuals in a broad range of high exposure and complex disputes in both Federal and State Courts. She has experience in all stages of the litigation process, including trials,  mediations, and taking and defending the depositions of expert witnesses, corporate representatives, and fact witnesses.  Marriah is also a published author and enjoys traveling and mentoring young adults in her spare time. 

Skylr Martucci-Moore is Assistant General Counsel, Transactions at The Aaron's Company, Inc., where she advises on a broad range of corporate, finance, commercial, and strategic transactions. Before joining Aaron's, Skylr practiced at both Eversheds Sutherland and Krevolin & Horst, LLC, representing clients in complex business and transactional matters. She earned her J.D., with Honors, from Emory University School of Law, where she served on the Emory Law Journal, and holds a B.A. in International Studies from Emory University.

Margaret Riley Schweizer is an attorney, and Child Welfare Law Specialist, who has practiced in child advocacy in the State of Georgia for over a decade. She currently serves as a Judicial Staff Attorney at Fulton County Juvenile Court. Margaret had the privilege of representing youth in dependency proceedings for the majority of her career as a Child Attorney with the Fulton County Office of the Child Attorney. Margaret also previously worked at the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless litigating a variety of civil issues including family, dependency, housing, and employment law. 
Margaret often delivers trainings and presentations on best practices in child welfare law to fellow attorneys, law students, and court personnel. She is on many working committees to enhance the quality of services and legal representation provided to children and families in Juvenile Court.
Margaret is also involved in her community as a member of the Junior League of Atlanta and the Georgia’s Children’s Justice Act Taskforce. She is on the Board of Directors of the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta as well as the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL). Margaret was the recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from The National Association of Counsel for Children, the 2024 Honorable Willie J. Lovett, Jr. Outstanding Service to Children Award from the Fulton County Juvenile Court and the 2025 Outstanding Volunteer Award from GAWL. 
Margaret is a proud alum of Ithaca College, where she earned her bachelor’s Magna Cum Laude in Sociology with a concentration in Criminal and Juvenile Justice. She received a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and has a Graduate Certificate from the University of Georgia in Non-Profit Management and Leadership. Margaret lives happily in Southeast Atlanta with her husband and two children.

Caroline Monsewicz is a dedicated trial attorney at Zinns Law, where she advocates for individuals and families facing some of the most challenging moments of their lives. She is passionate about holding corporations accountable when they fail to prioritize safety and is committed to securing justice for those affected by negligence.

Originally from North Carolina, Caroline graduated summa cum laude from Marshall University with dual degrees in History and Political Science and a minor in Vocal Performance. In 2013, she was honored to study at the University of Oxford, where she focused on political economics and Middle Eastern relations alongside peers from across the U.S., Europe, and Australia. A natural leader and team player, she also played as a goalkeeper for the Marshall University Thundering Herd NCAA Division I women’s soccer team for four seasons.

Caroline’s drive for excellence led her to Emory University School of Law, where she continued to challenge herself academically and professionally. She was recognized as a Graduating Woman of Excellence and received the prestigious Dean’s Award for her service to the Emory Law community.

With over two decades of dedicated service in the Department of Education, Nadege has garnered extensive experience and expertise in the field of education. Holding a Bachelor’s degree along with two Master’s degrees, Nadege is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree to further enhance her knowledge and contributions to the profession.

As the Executive Director of the Georgia Association For Women Lawyer (GAWL), she is deeply committed to fostering leadership opportunities and empowering women within the educational community. Her passion for education and leadership continues to drive her work, and she looks forward to contributing to GAWL's mission in the forthcoming years.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Nadege now resides in Buford, Georgia. Outside of her professional endeavors, she cherishes quality time spent with her sons, family, and friends, reflecting a strong belief in the value of relationships and community.

Elizabeth is an associate attorney at Huff Powell Bailey, LLC, at the firm’s Columbus, Georgia, office, where she primarily practices medical malpractice defense. She frequently represents physicians, mid-level providers, hospitals, and other care providers in cases alleging professional negligence and general liability in venues throughout Georgia and its neighbor to the west, Alabama. Elizabeth is also a member of the Criminal Justice Act panel where she represents indigent clients facing criminal charges in the Middle District of Georgia. Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Arts from Columbus State University in 2018 and subsequently completed her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, at Mercer University School of Law in 2022. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys walking her dogs, reading, and spending time with her husband.

Elizabeth was Vice President of the Columbus Chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers in the 2024-2025 board year and is now the President of the Columbus Chapter. The Columbus Chapter is most looking forward to the Judicial Reception, which the Columbus Chapter hosts every spring, and is a great opportunity to get to know judges across the state.

Teri L. Doepke is the managing attorney of the Doepke Law Firm, LLC, in Covington, Georgia.  She graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1999 after also receiving her bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. She was the chief assistant of the Alcovy Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office from 2004 through 2018, when she left to open The Doepke Law Firm.  Teri is also the current president of the Newton County Bar Association, and is active with the Newton County Chamber of Commerce, including graduating from the Leadership Newton program in 2023. Teri and her husband Erik live in Oxford, Georgia, and are the parents of two sons who currently attend Kennesaw State University, one daughter in the fifth grade, and three spoiled cats. 

Annette Malena is serving her second term as President of the GAWL Gwinnett Chapter.

Annette is a powerhouse litigator at Scholle Law, where she fiercely advocates for injury victims with empathy, professionalism, and skill. Her legal career began in the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, and she continues to serve her community, both in and out of the courtroom, with dedication and heart.

A longtime leader and mentor through Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Annette brings her passion for service and justice to every aspect of her work. 

Originally from Aiken, South Carolina, Lauren received her undergraduate degree in business economics from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  She then went on to Mercer Law in Macon, Georgia from which she graduated in 2010. Lauren has worked at Lisenby & Associates, LLC ( https://lisenbylaw.com/ ) since its creation in 2014 and is actively involved in all areas of the firm’s transactional practice.  She is the current president of the Middle Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers.  Lauren and her husband, Michael, live in a condo in downtown Macon with their mini bernedoodle, Denver. In her free time, she enjoys eating at local restaurants, attending plays (especially musicals), listening to podcasts, and reading mysteries.

Rebekah Maddox Ditto is an attorney at Hall Booth Smith’s Tifton office.  She specializes in general liability and government liability matters. She has successfully argued before the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of Appeals and protects the rights of clients in a wide range of complex litigation.

Before joining Hall Booth Smith, Rebekah previously served as the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office and as a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia. 

In addition to her legal practice, Rebekah serves on the Carrie Dorsey Perry Memorial Library Board of Trustees, the Coastal Plain Regional Library Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors of the Family Connection / Communities in Schools collaborative for Berrien County, and as President of the Tifton Bar Association. 

I am pleased to serve as the GAWL West Georgia Chapter President for a third term! During the day, I am city attorney for my hometown of Douglasville. Most importantly, I’m wife to Carl and mom to baby Olivia. I look forward to new GAWL adventures this year, and the annual favorites as well!

Jasmine Nguyen is the 2026–2027 President of the Georgia State University College of Law chapter of GAWL. She is interested in all forms of litigation and loves the excitement of trial. Having grown up in a family of medical professionals, Jasmine likes to joke that she rebelled by pursuing law. Outside of law school, she enjoys true crime podcasts and documentaries, fostering animals, cooking, and thrifting.
