APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!
APPLY FOR A 2023 GAWL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP TODAY!

Deadline for submitting 2023 scholarship applications has been extended to March 15, 2023

The GAWL Foundation awards scholarships every spring to deserving women law students in Georgia. Proceeds raised by our Annual GAWL Foundation Auction fund the annual scholarship awards. GAWL Foundation Scholarships will be awarded to deserving second and third year women law students in Georgia.

GAWL Foundation Scholarships are intended to:

  • Recognize women law students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and an aptitude for leadership and philanthropy;
  • Promote excellence in legal studies by providing assistance to deserving students; and
  • Advance the missions of both the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL) and the GAWL Foundation by enhancing the welfare and development of women lawyers and supporting their interests, and by encouraging philanthropy by women lawyers in Georgia for the benefit of the greater community.

AWARDS GIVEN: Scholarships are awarded each year contingent on the applicant pool and scholarship funds raised at the GAWL Foundation Auction. In recent years, the individual scholarships have ranged in value from $1,000 to $5,000. Scholarship winners are typically honored at the GAWL Annual Dinner and will receive, in addition to the scholarship, a complimentary one-year GAWL membership. Scholarship winners are typically expected to attend and aid in the GAWL Foundation Auction at the GAWL Annual Dinner. In light of COVID-19, 2022 plans for the GAWL Annual Dinner are TBD.
