Elinor Hitt is a partner in Kaye, Lembeck, Hitt & French where she practices family law. Elinor has practiced family law for 15 years and has a background in social work. She is also an experienced Guardian ad Litem and Mediator. Elinor is a GAWL board member.
Elinor joined GAWL for a mentoring circle and has discovered numerous other opportunities through that circle. She has found business coaches that advised on compensation and self-advocacy. Further, in the safe and supportive community of GAWL, she was able to craft a maternity leave policy for her previous firm. The firm had never had a woman have a baby and come back to work. GAWL helped her develop a plan. Elinor values the meaningful conversations she has had with the women in GAWL. They have provided advice and resources beyond her career. There are experiences unique to women and Elinor feels strongly that we need to continue to provide opportunities for mentorship and connection.
Elinor is married with two children that keep her busy. In her free time, she serves on an elementary school Foundation and teaches Sunday School at her church. Elinor enjoys listening to podcasts, and camping is her comfort activity. Her grandmother taught her to camp, and she really enjoys it. Elinor serves as Treasurer of the Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.
