Member Spotlight: Abby Miller

In her first year with GAWL, Abby Miller decided to go big or go home and took on the role of President for GAWL’s Columbus Chapter. She has loved the experience so far and has met an incredible group of women in her role. She is currently an associate practicing insurance defense in Columbus. The pandemic has led Abby, like many others, to handle a majority of meetings, court appearances, and depositions through Zoom as opposed to in person. Although she appreciates the convenience of accommodating people in different locations, she misses the human connection of being face-to-face with adversaries and clients.

In her free time, Abby enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their four dogs, as well as running. She also enjoys books, particularly on Audible. Some of her recent favorite reads are Good Morning, Monster, The Last Thing He Told Me, The Great Alone, and The Sun Does Shine.

Some of Abby’s favorite organizations to support are Girls, Inc., which focuses on empowering and developing girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers, and Historic Westville, a living history museum focused on the 19th Century Chattahoochee Valley and is located in Columbus.
