Taryn Kadar

Taryn Kadar’s practice focuses on providing insurance coverage advice to both domestic and international insurers regarding commercial property and commercial general liability claims. In addition, Taryn represents insurers in coverage litigation, including the pursuit of declaratory judgment actions and defense of breach of contract and bad faith actions against insurers in both first and third-party claims.
Taryn was seconded to two leading Lloyd’s syndicates for a period of six months. In these roles, she worked with the in-house legal teams and provided advice regarding U.S. and international claims (including property and casualty, marine, reinsurance, contingency, cargo, and professional indemnity claims), and conducted coverage litigation management and assessment. She also worked with underwriters to draft and review U.S. policy wordings.
Additionally, Taryn represents insureds as defense counsel in direct litigation involving personal injury and professional liability claims.
Taryn received her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2013, where she served on the Board of Editors for the Wake Forest Law Review. She has been with Fields Howell since 2015 and was promoted to partner in 2020.
