Join us on October 19, 2017 a special film screening of “The Naked Truth: Death by Delivery.” Hosted by Troutman Sanders LLC. This film examines why in the United States, black women are three to four times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women, and are twice as likely to suffer from severe maternal morbidity. The film will be followed by a discussion with our panel of experts who will discuss the known and suspected causes of these disparities including racial and gender inequalities, poverty, and access to healthcare. Panelists will also discuss legal, policy, and advocacy solutions that Georgia and other states can take to ensure safe and respectful maternal care for all women.
