Join GAWL for our annual CLE event, The Leader Within, to start the year off with an inspiring and motivating program to promote Leadership in our Community in 2017.  The Leader Within is an intensive training seminar geared towards attorneys interested in developing and enhancing their leadership skills.  3 hours of General CLE credit available pending certification.

Tickets must be purchased by 5PM on February 7, 2017 to include breakfast and lunch, but you are welcome to bring lunch with you if you register later.

Discount tickets are available to law students, public interest lawyers, public sector lawyers and employees of GAWL sponsors. Please log in to access discount ticket options.

Can't make it in person? Stream the event live online by registering for a Veritext Virtual ticket. Virtual attendees will receive 3 hours of self-study CLE credit, pending certification.

SESSION 1 – Running for Office

Running for office can be challenging and rewarding! Learn from several women lawyers who have run for office. This session will answer questions regarding deciding to run, campaigning, balancing a race with your legal practice, and how to get more involved! 

SESSION 2 – Integrating Community Service and Pro Bono Work Into Your Practice

10:10 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Learn how to build your pro bono practice and integrate community service into your practice to compliment and increase your court room, negotiation, and communication skills.  Hear from members of the public and private bar on how their pro bono work and community service have impacted their careers.

SESSION 3 – A First Look at the GAWL Leaky Pipeline Study

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Hear from GAWL’s historian and board president on GAWL’s efforts to measure and document the issues affecting women lawyers in our community.  Also, get a first glimpse of the preliminary results of GAWL’s Leaky Pipeline Study with a conversation to discuss strategies for moving forward.
