GAWLedu Session 3 Applications Due

12 Dec 2015
11:55pm - 11:55pm EST

The deadline to apply for GAWLedu has been extended to December 12th!

Being a newer lawyer can be challenging.

Are there aspects of being a lawyer that you need to learn more about? Do you want to meet experienced women lawyers and become part of an exciting cadre of newer women attorneys over the next year?

Are you a recent law school graduate who has taken a bar exam in any state? Or a licensed attorney in practice for 3 years or less?

If so, “GAWLedu: Boot Camp for Beginning Lawyers” program is for you!

GAWLedu is a one-morning-a-month, 12-month program which will begin in January 2016 and run through December 2016.

  • In 12, 4-hour monthly sessions (Fridays, from 9am to 1pm in Buckhead), GAWLedu will cover numerous relevant topics of interest, designed for newer lawyers, such as selecting your practice area, how to start your own practice, how to avoid malpracticing, communicating with clients, technology, negotiating, marketing, and practical research techniques -- as well as one-hour discussions over lunch (provided) with experienced attorneys about their substantive areas of legal practice ranging from litigation to estate planning to real estate and small business law.

  • GAWLedu will deliver its content in speaker presentation/Q&A format.

    • There will be approximately 30 female attorneys as speakers

    • Each speaker will have been in practice for 10 years, and they will specialize in a variety of types of law in various practice settings.

GAWLedu costs only $125 for 48 hours of quality content to help you become a confident, savvier newer lawyer with skills and knowledge to join more experienced practitioners in the practice of law in Georgia! In addition, the members of the group will get to know each other well over the course of the year, forming friendships and support that we hope will last for many years.  CLE credit will be available for an additional nominal charge for the last three classes.

The program is limited to 24 participants, who will be selected from a quick and easy application process. You must be a GAWL member to be eligible to participate in this program—so join GAWL now if you are not a member and submit your application as soon as possible. You must be willing to commit to attending at least 10 out of 12 sessions.
