GAWL is pleased to announce that a group of members will be traveling to Washington, DC to be sworn in to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States in open court on May 13, 2013, during a special session!
While the current trip is full, to participate in the future, you must meet the following qualifications:
Be a GAWL member with an active bar license;
Obtain a Certificate of Good Standing from the presiding judge, clerk, or authorized official of the highest court of a State, Commonwealth, Territory or Possession, or of the District of Columbia evidencing the fact that the admittee has been a member of the Bar of such court for three years;
Complete the Application for Admission to Practice. The Application requires the endorsement of two sponsors who are members of the Supreme Court Bar who know the applicant personally and are not related to the applicant by blood or marriage (GAWL can assist you with this requirement.); and
Submit a check for $200, payable to U.S. Supreme Court, to cover the swearing-in fee (credit card payment option is not available for this fee). All travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the individual.
