Elena Parent --  Georgia House of Representatives, District 81 (North DeKalb):  Before entering politics, Elena worked as a litigation associate at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, where she co-founded the women attorneys' affinity group.  Elena, a 1998 honors graduate of the University of Virginia, graduated from University of Virginia School of Law in 2002, where she served as Symposium Editor for the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law.  Elena was a member of GAWL's 2009 Leadership Academy and serves on the GAWL Foundation Board.  Elena is a member of the Board of Directors of It's The Journey, Inc., which produces the Atlanta Two-Day Breast Cancer Walk.  For more: www.elenaparent.com.

Courtney Johnson -- DeKalb County Superior Court Judge.  Courtney is presently an ADA in DeKalb County and received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and her law degree from Emory Law School. She began her legal career in the DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s office as a domestic violence advocate, and then became an Assistant Solicitor-General. 

Denise Warner -- DeKalb County Superior Court Judge: Denise has been practicing law for 14 years.  For the past 5 years she has worked in the DeKalb County judicial system as the staff attorney to Superior Court Judge Mark Anthony Scott, ensuring that he has a clear, concise understanding of the issues and applicable law for every civil and criminal case assigned to him.  Prior to serving as staff attorney, she was a trial attorney for 9 years in hundreds of cases throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area focusing on family law and personal injury law.  She is the President of the DeKalb Bar Association, and a past Chair of the Multi-Bar Leadership Council.  For more: www.denisemwarner.com.

 

Sherry Boston -- DeKalb County State Court Judge:   Sherry is a long-time GAWL member and has served for many years on its JARC committee.  Sherry is a trial attorney at the Bernstein Firm and serves as Dunwoody Municipal Court Judge as well as a pro hac judge in DeKalb County Recorder’s Court.  She has been recognized for four consecutive years as a member of Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and Atlanta Magazine Rising Star Super Lawyers as of one of the top and most effective lawyers in her field.  More information about Sherry can be found at www.sherrybostonforjudge.com.  

Nicole Marchand -- DeKalb County State Court Judge:  Nicole is the Chief Assistant Solicitor-General in the DeKalb Solicitor-General’s Office and serves as the front-line supervisor for 75 employees including 25 attorneys.  Prior to joining the Solicitor’s office, she served as an Assistant District Attorney in the DeKalb District Attorney’s Office.  Nicole also served as a special prosecutor in the Crimes Against Children Unit, where she prosecuted child murders, molestations, and abuse cases.  She is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana and Emory Law School.  Nicole is a mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and frequently speaks at schools to discourage crime amongst students.

Chloe Dallaire -- Fulton County Superior Court Judge:  Chloe, an Emory Law School graduate, has practiced for more than twelve years and is a partner at the firm of Weinberg, Wheeler, Hudgins, Gunn and Dial.  Chloe has extensive courtroom experience and is regarded among the state’s best in the area of tort claims.  She has handled a variety of cases, including medical malpractice, employment matters, defective products, premises liability, fraud and complex business disputes.  Chloe received her Bachelors degree from Wake Forest University. Chloe is a member of GAWL, American Bar Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Lawyer's Club of Atlanta, and Defense Research Institute.

Karlise Yvette Grier – Fulton County Superior Court Judge:  Karlise is a GAWL member who worked with GAWL to co-sponsor the 2000 Georgia Women On the Run seminar. During her 18-year legal career, Karlise has litigated numerous cases, including several reported cases.  Karlise served as a Judicial Officer in the Fulton County Superior Court Family Division from May 2006 until December 2008.  Karlise is a Fellow in the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys and a Barrister in the Weltner Family Law Inn of Court.  She received her B.A. from Dartmouth College, and her J.D. from Emory Law School. Kelly Amanda Lee - Fulton County Superior Court Judge:  Having practiced litigation for over 17 years, Kelly has tried over 30 jury trials as lead counsel.  As a Business Litigation Partner at Womble Carlyle and now as the owner of her own law firm, Kelly represents individuals to multi-million dollar companies in complex civil litigation.  She is a long time member of GAWL currently serving on the JARC committee.  In December 2009, Kelly was named by the JNC as well-qualified to serve on the Fulton Superior Court.  She's a 2009 and 2010 Super Lawyer, and active member of the ABA, GDLA and Lawyers Club.  Learn more at www.votekellylee.com.
