Full and/or Sustaining Membership:  Members licensed to practice law and in good standing of the Bar of any State or the District of Columbia or International Bar shall be eligible for full and/or sustaining membership.

Public Sector/Non Profit Membership:  Any Full Member who is employed, at of the beginning of the applicable Calendar Year, by a governmental entity or a non-profit organization, shall be eligible for Public Sector/Non Profit Membership. 

Inactive Membership:  Any lawyer who is in good standing of the Bar of any State or the District of Columbia or International Bar, and either (a) is not currently employed, or (b) has inactive status with any such Bar, shall be eligible for Inactive Membership. 

Law Student:  Any law student shall be eligible for a student membership upon enrolling in an accredited law school, which membership shall be available until admittance to any State Bar or the District of Columbia Bar is obtained. 

Friend of GAWL:  Any person is eligible for the Friend of GAWL category of membership, regardless of affiliation with any law school, firm, or state bar organization.
